Dear Friend,

Last week, the House of Representatives and the Senate Armed Services Committee voted to repeal "Don't Ask, Don't Tell." As a gay parent who is partnered with a U.S. Army officer, these votes represent an historic success for the LGBTQ Community and my family. Although the full Senate has yet to vote, repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" will protect the brave men and women, like my partner, who serve this country from the influence of this discriminatory legislation.

As a voter in House District 5, I expect my community leaders to be advocates for equal rights. For this reason, and others, I am supporting Crisanta Duran for State Representative. As a Political Director of Senator Mark Udall's campaign, Crisanta advocated for the LGBTQ Community throughout the state and she continues to do so in our district today.

Please join me in support of Crisanta and in celebration of the end of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" at Denver Pride Fest on June 20th. Together we can support two just causes.
